Samuel S. Blaufeld
Senior Partner

Sam Blaufeld believes there is no worthier mission than advocacy for working men and women.

Born in Braddock and raised in East Pittsburgh, Sam worked his way through the University of Pittsburgh Law School after serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. After three years of private practice and three more with the U.S. Attorney's office, Sam spent the next decade practicing all aspects of labor law as Trial Attorney and Supervising Attorney with the National Labor Relations Board. Nine years as Administrative Law Judge with the Department of Health, Education and Welfare broadened his knowledge of Social Security disability claims. Sam has served as Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and guest lecturer at the School of Law, where he currently supervises a practicum on workers' compensation. Since opening his own firm, Sam has applied his experience to helping workers protect their rights.

Sam is married and has one son and two grandsons. He is energetically involved in numerous activities outside the office.

Pamela M. Schiller

Pam Schiller is a strong believer in individual empowerment through awareness of legal rights.

Pam served as legal assistant/law clerk to Sam Blaufeld while attending the University of Pittsburgh Law School. After graduating magna cum laude in 1984, she joined the firm and became managing partner in 1988. In addition to her management role, Pam is a legal advocate for clients in the areas of Worker's Compensation litigation, Social Security disability claims and labor law. She has been a speaker throughout the region, appearing in various seminars including those sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Allegheny County Bench Bar and others.

Pam is married and has two children.

Barbara E. Holmes

Barb Holmes developed her work ethic and awareness of issues affecting working people growing up in McKeesport.

Barbara is a graduate of Chatham College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where she participated in various appellate advocacy competitions. She was admitted to the bar in 1984. After gaining six years of general civil litigation experience at two other law firms, Barb joined Blaufeld & Schiller in 1990. In addition to workers' compensation litigation and Social Security disability claims, Barb enjoys appellate argument and is the firm's top appellate advocate. She has appeared on behalf of our firm and its clients before the Commonwealth and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania, as well as the Third and Sixth Circuit Courts of Appeals. She is active in the education of other lawyers through the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Bar Institute, where she is a sought-after speaker. She is also involved in Kids' Chance, a group which provides college scholarships to children of injured workers.

Barb is married with two children.

Amanda L. Sinton

Amanda Sinton believes strongly in educating injured workers about their rights under the PA Workers' Compensation Act.

Amanda is a graduate of Penn State University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While at PSU, she was heavily involved in the leadership of her service sorority and led many charitable drives for children. She worked at BS&H while in law school and joined the firm in 2001.

Mandy has a strong background in hearing loss litigation, helping our clients to receive workers' compensation benefits for industrial hearing loss. She also handles general workers' compensation litigation. She has appeared on behalf of the firm and its clients before many Judges throughout the region, as well as the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board. Mandy also is a speaker at the firm's seminars for unions and the general public.

Mandy and her husband live in Cecil, PA.
